HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — John Mayer has slammed The Huffington Post after the news site suggested he might be dating Jennifer Aniston again.

The 32-year-old singer bashed the site for taking his concert comments last weekend out of context and joining the ranks of the tabloids.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — John Mayer broke down on stage Wednesday night after a day of controversy sparked by some controversial comments he made during a Playboy interview.

"In the quest to be clever, I completely forgot about the people that I love and the people that love me," the 32-year-old musician, who has come under fire for some racial remarks in the magazine's March issue, told his audience at Nashville's Sommet Center.

"I should have just given that up and played the guitar," he went on. "I didn't. So I decided I would try to be as clever as possible all the time, and I did that at the expense of people that I love and that feels absolutely terrible."

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — John Mayer is being slammed over some comments he made about African-American women during an interview with Playboy.

In the magazine's March issue, the 32-year-old musician is asked: "Do black women throw themselves at you?"

"I don't think I open myself to it," replies Mayer. "My d-ck is sort of like a white supremacist. I've got a Benetton heart and a f---in' David Duke c-ck. I'm going to start dating separately from my d-ck."

Mayer is then asked to get more specific with names.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — John Mayer has been linked to some of Hollywood's biggest stars, but the pop crooner is taking a break from the romance department.

"I'm not dating," the 32-year-old musician revealed on Tuesday's Ellen DeGeneres Show. "I don't know if you know this, but I have sort of a funny track record. Which is actually not that strange given my age. I'm a little freaked out right now about it, to be honest. I'm just going to let time pass and just do my thing."
