David Letterman Super Bowl adMIAMI BEACH, Fla. — The victory by the underdog New Orleans Saints wasn't the biggest shocker on Super Bowl Sunday — it was Jay Leno and David Letterman sharing a couch together.

One of the most popular commercials during the Super Bowl XLIV broadcast was a promo for CBS' Late Show with David Letterman. The 15-second spot featured Leno and Letterman at a Super Bowl party with Oprah Winfrey sandwiched between the sparring late-night hosts.

"This is the worst Super Bowl party ever," Letterman says.

"Now, Dave, be nice," Oprah replies.

Betty White and Abe Vigoda Snickers Super Bowl AdMIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Betty White and Abe Vigoda brought their A-game to Super Bowl XLIV.

The Hollywood stars teamed up for a memorable Snickers ad that was crowned as the most-liked commercial in USA Today's 22nd annual Super Bowl Ad Meter.

In the 30-second spot, White and Vigoda find themselves in a rough-and-tumble football game that ultimately gets both of them tossed on their fannies.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Carrie Underwood was on center stage Sunday as she sang the National Anthem before Super Bowl XLIV.

The 26-year-old country star performed in a dazzling white pantsuit in front of the sold-out crowd at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.

Underwood joined an elite group of stars who have belted out the Super Bowl National Anthem, including Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Whitney Houston, Harry Connick, Jr., Garth Brooks, Natalie Cole, Vanessa Williams, Luther Vandross, Cher, Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, the Dixie Chicks, Beyoncé Knowles and fellow American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson.

Sparked by an onside kick to begin the second half, the New Orleans Saints marched to a 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL's title game.

Video: The Who Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show Performance

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — The Who, led by rock legends' Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, hit the stage Sunday for the Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show.

The British band kicked off their 12-minute performance at Miami's Sun Life Stadium with "Pinball Wizard." They followed with "Baba O'Riley," "Who Are You," "See Me Feel Me" and a fireworks-emblazoned finale of "Won't Get Fooled Again."

"It was amazing,'' lucky fan Amy Halvorsen, who was dancing in her seat, told the Miami Herald. "I grew up with The Who. The fact that they are able to perform at this level at this age, I'm thrilled."

After the game, The Who's brief set was made available for purchase on the video game Rock Band, allowing fans to play the part of arena rock star.

Video: Mel Gibson Calls WGN Reporter 'A**hole'

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — It's probably a good idea not to ask Mel Gibson about his controversial past.

The 54-year-old actor got testy with WGN's Dean Richards after the entertainment reporter inquired: "Do you think the public will perceive you any differently after all that's been in the news about you?"

"That's almost four years ago, dude. I've moved on. I guess you haven't," snapped Gibson, who was famously pulled over for a DUI in 2006 and allegedly made anti-Semitic comments during his arrest.

"I certainly hope so," added Gibson about his fans forgiving him. "It is a while back and I've done the necessary mea culpas. Let's move on, dude. Come on."

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Hit the road Britney and Madonna.

Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock heated up the stage Friday night at the 15th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards after they tied for the best actress award (Streep for Julie & Julia and Bullock for The Blind Side).

Upon reaching the stage, both stars jokingly circled one another and stared each other down. After playfully blurting out, "This is bulls---," Bullock moved in for a kiss. The pair then proceeded to lock lips to the delight of the crowd.

During her acceptance speech, Bullock noted how much the two actresses have in common.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jimmy Kimmel made an appearance on Thursday night's Jay Leno Show, where he proceeded to slam the master of ceremonies.

When Leno asked about the best prank Kimmel had ever pulled, the ABC funnyman responding with a knife.

"I told a guy that five years from now I'm going to give you my show. And then when the five years came up, I gave it to him and took it back almost instantly," said Kimmel, referencing Leno's potential move back to late night that would impact Conan O'Brien's Tonight Show duties.

The attacks didn't stop there.

"Ever order anything off the TV?" asked Leno.

"Like NBC ordered your show off the TV?" replied Kimmel.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jimmy Fallon busted out his Neil Young impression Thursday night for the latest rendition of "Pants on the Ground."

Fallon, who previously impersonated Young while singing the theme song from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, offered a heart-wrenching rendition of the buzz-worthy tune. The track caught fire after 62-year-old General Larry Platt performed it on Wednesday night's American Idol broadcast.

"Pants on the ground, pants on the ground, lookin' like a fool with your pants on the ground," go the veteran's lyrics. "With the gold in your mouth, hat turned sideway, pants hit the ground / Call yourself a cool cat, looking like a fool, walkin' downtown with your pants on the ground!"

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — While the rest of late night television was bashing NBC, Jennifer Love Hewitt was on the new George Lopez show Wednesday night chatting about her private parts.

During her visit to Lopez Tonight, Hewitt brought up her upcoming romance book, The Day I Shot Cupid, and a special chapter in particular titled "Vagazzaling."

"After a breakup a friend of mine Swarovski Crystaled my 'precious lady' and it shined like a disco ball and so I have a whole chapter in there about how women should 'vagazzle' their va-jay-jays," explained the 30-year-old actress.

"You are the crystal Gandhi in my eyes," responded Lopez after he got down on his knees and kissed Hewitt's hand.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Conan O'Brien took the gloves off Wednesday night in his battle against NBC and Jay Leno specifically.

O'Brien, who has slammed NBC's plan to move his Tonight Show back a half hour to accommodate Leno's return to late night, took aim at his fellow network counterpart during his monologue Wednesday night.

"Hosting the Tonight Show has been the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for me," O'Brien told the studio audience. "I just want to say to the kids out there watching: You can do anything you want in life. Unless Jay Leno wants to do it too."

The 46-year-old host also continued his bashing of NBC by referencing the network that is likely his biggest suitor.
