HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Sum 41 has canceled its remaining Vans Warped Tour dates after frontman Deryck Whibley was attacked last Thursday at a bar in Japan.
Whibley, the ex-husband of Avril Lavigne, was assaulted by three unidentified assailants after the band arrived in town for the Summer Sonic Music Festival. The incident aggravated a previous disc injury Whibley suffered in 2007.

TOKYO, Japan — Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley has been hospitalized after he was attacked Thursday night at a bar in Japan.
Whibley, the ex-husband of Avril Lavigne, was assaulted by three unidentified assailants after the band arrived in town for this weekend's Summersonic Music Festival in Osaka.

LOS ANGELES — Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley are calling time on their relationship.
On Thursday, the couple confirmed that they've separated after three years of marriage.
"Deryck and I have been together for six and a half years," wrote Lavigne on her official Web site. "We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know, and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note."

LOS ANGELES — Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley are splitsville.
The pair, who tied the knot in July 2006 at a private estate in Montecito, Calif, are headed for divorce, a source tells American Superstar.
"They've been at odds for some time," says an insider, "but they held out hope that they could work out their differences. It's come to the point where they've both realized that it's time to move on."
Lavigne, 24, and Whibley, 29, have been subject to divorce rumors for some time, with both stars seemingly living separate lives on the party circuit. There has been some speculation that Lavigne has forged a romantic relationship with Brandon Davis, the grandson of oil tycoon Marvin Davis.
