Naomi Campbell Settles Lawsuit Filed By Former Maid

By Chloe Bunker on January 15, 2009

NEW YORK — Finally, the dust has settled.

Naomi Campbell has settled a lawsuit filed by her former maid, who accused the supermodel of striking her and calling her names for not being able to locate a pair of jeans, according to The Associated Press.

Terms of the settlement were not revealed, but Campbell and her former employee, Gaby Gibson, are both said to be satisfied.

Gibson, who worked for Campbell from November 2005 through January 2006, had filed her claim in a Manhattan court. The Romanian immigrant said Campbell become furious when she couldn't find a pair of Stella McCartney jeans.

"I've had it with you, f***ing b**ch," the suit quoted Campbell as saying.

Campbell has denied Gibson's claims and was never charged with any wrongdoing.

This was not the first time the British catwalker has faced a dispute with one of her maids. In January 2007, Campbell pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless assault against another former maid, Ana Scolavino.

Campbell also made headlines last April when a dispute began over her luggage as she was preparing to catch a flight from London to Los Angeles aboard British Airways. She was later sentenced to 200 hours community service and fined $4,500 after pleading guilty plea to assaulting two police officers at London's Heathrow Airport.

"She is very, very relieved it is over and she has been treated fairly," her publicist, Alan Edwards, told the BBC after the sentencing. "The whole thing is regrettable, she knows that."
