LOS ANGELES – Ellen DeGeneres called paramedics after experiencing chest pains yesterday.
The 53-year-old talk show host was suffering from discomfort all evening on Sunday, and when the pain continued into the next day she called the ambulance service.
Within minutes paramedics arrived at the Warner Bros. studios in Los Angeles where she records her series and also a crew from the Burbank Fire Department.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – A woman who was arrested outside Ellen DeGeneres' home has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor trespassing.
Los Angeles County District Attorney's spokeswoman Jane Robison says Karen Grace Sjoden entered the plea during a hearing on Monday in Beverly Hills.
Sjoden was arrested early Feb. 10 outside the comedian and talk show host's home and had elected to represent herself. The 50-year-old has been jailed since then.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Prosecutors have charged a woman with trespassing after she was arrested last week outside the home of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.
Karen Grace Sjoden, 49, pleaded not guilty Monday in Beverly Hills Superior Court. Her trial was set for March 7.
Sjoden is accused of entering the couple's property in Beverly Hills on Feb. 10. She was initially detained by private security at the home, who then turned her over to police.

LOS ANGELES — Ellen DeGeneres may be one of the busiest stars in Hollywood, but she isn't turning to sugar to help get her through the day.
"No cake, no cookies, no candy," she tells the May issue of Shape magazine about her "sugar fast."
One can forgive DeGeneres if she needs a little energy boost with a busy schedule that includes her daytime talk show and a judging gig on American Idol. So how does she stay energized? DeGeneres credits her vegan diet for keeping her body running full steam ahead.
"It's so weird," she explains. "Food used to be really important to me. I loved steak, I loved hamburgers, I loved all that stuff. I can't believe how irresponsible I was, eating what I ate."

LOS ANGELES — Ellen DeGeneres makes her long-awaited American Idol debut Tuesday night and she insists there won't be many fireworks.
"Everyone's making such a big deal of the tension, but there's been a lot of fun on that panel," the 52-year-old DeGeneres told Ryan Seacrest on his KISS-FM radio show Tuesday.
So what about all the chatter that she's been clashing with fellow judge Simon Cowell?
"I think he's a funny guy," she told Seacrest. "I like him on Wednesday['s show]. I like him on one day, I can't remember which. He's going to be a challenge. He's Simon and I'm me and we're two different people. We'll see how it goes."

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Ellen DeGeneres plans to bring "compassion" to her new moonlighting gig on "American Idol," a trait she saw in the woman she's replacing — Paula Abdul.
"Paula was a huge part of the show, and that's a role that needs to be filled by someone in a totally different way," DeGeneres revealed on Thursday's "On Air with Ryan Seacrest."
"I think you can be honest in a pretty kind way," she added. "I hope to be that compassionate person. That's the one thing Paula did bring, that compassion."

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Ellen DeGeneres is speaking out on the passing of California Proposition 8 in Tuesday's election, which now bans same-sex marriages in the state.
DeGeneres, who in August married her longtime girlfriend, actress Portia de Rossi, said the news is a major disappointment.
"This morning, when it was clear that Proposition 8 had passed in California, I can't explain the feeling I had," the 50-year-old DeGeneres wrote in a message posted Thursday on her talk-show's Web site. "I was saddened beyond belief."
