Video: Conan O'Brien and Howie Mandel Make Deal on 'Tonight Show'

By Matt Murai on January 13, 2010

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Conan O'Brien's fate has come down to an abbreviated game of Deal or No Deal.

On Tuesday's Tonight Show, the embattled talk-show host was joined by Howie Mandel, who presented O'Brien with several options as he weighs NBC's proposed late-night shuffle.

"This is exciting. This is a huge move for me," O'Brien said as he prepared to make his decision. "I can't believe it's come down to this ... this makes about as much sense as anything else these days."

Presented with six cases that held his next career move inside, O'Brien opted for No. 6. As the model holding the case walked forward, Mandel joked, "I don't know who that is. Apparently NBC fired the real models."

The duo then proceeded to open the five remaining cases, which included such moves as "join cast of next Twilight movie as rare albino werewolf" and "gay neighbor on untitled Ed Asner project."

So what was inside O'Brien's case No. 6?

Two tickets to see Jay Leno perform stand-up at the Luxor Casino in Las Vegas.

O'Brien opened the show to a large round of applause. He then urged everyone to settle down, saying "I may not have that much time," and adding, "My name is Conan O'Brien and I may soon be available for children's parties."

He then reminisced about watching the Tonight Show as a child: "I remember watching Johnny Carson and thinking, someday I'm going to host that show for seven months."
