LOS ANGELES – Chrissie Hynde has closed down her restaurant.
The Pretenders singer announced on Vegiterranean's website yesterday that she was shutting the Ohio eatery, citing the "current economic climate" as the reason for the decision.
She wrote: "It is with great regret that The Vegiterranean in downtown Akron has closed its doors for the last time.

LOS ANGELES – Motorhead star Lemmy has launched his own brand of wine.
The 65-year-old rocker - who is joined in the band by Phil Campbell, and Mikkey Dee - has created a bottle of Australian Shiraz wine which features flavors of vanilla, blackberries, plums and licorice.
However, he has warned fans, who will pay £14.40 a bottle, to be wary of drinking too much.
He said: "Wine is deceptive. Anything can happen."

NEW YORK – The Grammy-winning group Train has been making waves with its wine club, and now, the trio is taking the next step with its own wine.
Starting next week, fans will be able to buy Drops of Jupiter Petite Sirah wine from Train's online wine club and other outlets. The name is a nod to one of Train's earlier hits, and is produced by the group's wine company, Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co., which takes its title from a Train album.

LOS ANGELES – The Huffington Post is launching a new site aimed at the baby boomer generation, and Rita Wilson will direct its vision and content.
AOL Huffington Post Media Group President and Editor-in-Chief Arianna Huffington says Thursday that the actress and producer will be editor-at-large of "Huff/Post 40," which is set to launch in August. She says Wilson even came up with the name of the new site.

CLINTON, Iowa – A fried chicken restaurant in Iowa founded by Flavor Flav has abruptly closed its doors after the reality TV star and his business partner cut ties and exchanged harsh words.
Flav's Fried Chicken in Clinton, Iowa, closed on Sunday, just four months after opening to much fanfare.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Donald Trump has bought a Virginia vineyard at a foreclosure auction and wants to produce wines.
Media outlets report that representatives for Trump bought the winery Thursday and Trump is in talks with former owners William Moses and Patricia Kluge about running the operation.
Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyards in Charlottesville was put up for sale by a creditor bank.

LOS ANGELES – Larry King's business portfolio is expanding from bagels to breath mints.
The former CNN host, who announced last month he was joining with a New York bagel maker to open a Beverly Hills store, now is hawking a breath freshener.
In a release Thursday, King said he and his wife, Shawn, "love" the product so much that they have become partners in it. The goal, King said, is to "make sure people share our enthusiasm" for the mint-coated capsule, BreathGemz.

BALTIMORE – Actor Chazz Palminteri is bringing a taste of the Bronx to Baltimore.
The actor known for roles in "The Usual Suspects" and "A Bronx Tale" says he decided to open a restaurant in Baltimore because that's where his search for the perfect Italian meal ended. Palminteri says he was so impressed with a meal he had at Aldo's Ristorante Italiano in 2009 that he went back 10 times and eventually decided to open a place with the founder and his son.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Madonna is bringing her workout to Russia.
The 52-year-old pop star has announced that her second Hard Candy Fitness Center will be opening in Moscow. The new facility, projected to open in mid-March 2011, will be a 35,000-square foot space located near Red Square. Moscow's Hard Candy Fitness will also include a partnership with Irina Razumova, founder of the popular Russian chain Planet Fitness.
