HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Eddie Cibrian is speaking out for the first time since he split with his wife shortly after rumors surfaced that he was having an affair with country singer LeAnn Rimes.
"I don't know how people perceive me," he told Entertainment Tonight in an interview that aired Tuesday. "What I do know is when you reach a certain point in your career you're placed in this unfair fishbowl. Things unfortunately get magnified."
Last month, Cibrian, 36, and Rimes, 26, were seen hanging out again after rumors of an affair first surfaced in March. The actor's wife, model Brandi Glanville, later told Us Weekly that she had split from her husband.
"Eddie and I have decided to take some time apart," the 36-year-old Glanville told the mag. "I want to do what is best for our children. Eddie and LeAnn deserve each other."
Cibrian has also been accused of romancing 24-year-old model Scheana Marie Jancan in recent time, but he told ET that the picture isn't always clear on the outside.
"We are all human, we are all not perfect," says the actor, who is joining the cast of "CSI: Miami" as Jesse Cardoza. "The fact is I love my family dearly, and I'm a great father. It just saddens me that this is hurtful and being played out publicly."
