PARIS — The world might have a wait a little bit longer for Angelina Jolie's baby twins to arrive.
Jolie's obstetrician, Dr. Michel Sussmann, spoke at a news conference Wednesday at Lenval Hospital in Nice, assuring everyone that the 33-year-old movie star had not encountered any sort of medical emergency.
"She is doing absolutely fine," said the doctor, who received Jolie's blessing to release a few details. "Her hospitalization at this stage in her pregnancy is totally normal for a patient who had a Caesarean (section) during her first pregnancy."
According to Sussmann, the hospital has reserved four rooms for the Jolie-Pitt contingent and their bodyguards. Jolie first entered the south of France hospital over the weekend.
The babies will be the fifth and sixth children for Jolie and her beau, 44-year-old actor Brad Pitt. The superstar couple is already proud parents to three adopted children — Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3. They also have one biological daughter, Shiloh, 2.
As for when fans can expect the couple's newest additions, Sussmann said it's anyone's guess.
"Let's say the birth will happen in the weeks to come," he said.
