Zelda Williams Honors Beloved Father Robin Williams and His Favorite Charity at Noble Awards

By Celebrity News Wire on February 28, 2015

Zelda Williams honored her late father Robin Williams at last night’s Noble Awards in Beverly Hills, CA yesterday (Feb. 27, 2015).

She attended the Noble Awards with her mother, Williams’ ex-wife Marsha Garces, and paid tribute to his favorite charity, the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), which provides prosthetics to disabled athletes. Additionally, she spoke about keeping the beloved comedian’s memory alive.

Zelda explained Robin’s love for cycling in her speech, saying “Watching my dad get on a bike was like watching a penguin spread its wings and take flight.”

“He’d take off at inhuman speed, a smile on his face and never look back,” she added.

Williams’ had participated in the charity’s annual San Diego Triathlon Challenge for more than a decade.

Reflecting on his death (Williams passed at age 63 in August 2014), the 25-year-old said, “For me it’s easy to continue remembering someone that is impossible to forget.”

On stepping back into the public spotlight, Zelda commented “It’s not difficult, it’s just a strange feeling. It’s okay, it’s going to be okay, but it is a transition. It’s acknowledging that you have to stop feeling that the outside world does not exist, because for a short while it doesn’t.”

Zelda gave her first interview only two days ago (Feb. 26, 2015) on the Today Show, sharing memories of him and supporting CAF.

The late Paul Walker was also honored, for his work with Reach Out Worldwide. Walker helped to found the organization that mobilizes aid workers in the event of natural disasters. His brothers Cody and Caleb were in attendance in his honor.
