The 2020 ACM Awards didn’t disappoint viewers when it came to the number of memorable performances during the three-hour event on Wednesday (Sept. 16). With a total of 24 musical sets during the Academy of Country Music’s 55th annual event, there was plenty to appreciate.
Among them were Taylor Swift’s worldwide premiere of “Betty,” off her surprise album Folklore. The performance was also the superstar’s first performance at the ACM’s in seven years. Carrie Underwood also delivered a memorable medley featuring hits from iconic female members of the Opry, and Kane Brown gave viewers a touching rendition of his powerful hit “Worldwide Beautiful.”
The performances were held at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House, Ryman Auditorium, and the Bluebird Cafe — all socially distanced. In previous years, the ceremony has been held in Las Vegas. It was rescheduled from April and relocated to Nashville in the wake of the global coronavirus pandemic.
