Following in the footsteps of big brother Chris Hemsworth (Snow White and The Hunstman, Thor), Liam has successfully conquered Tinsel Town. As one of the stars in the wildly successful trilogy, The Hunger Games – Hemsworth has attracted a massive fan base. Along with castmates Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, the actor was honored with four awards for “Favorite Movie,” “Favorite Movie Franchise,” “Favorite On-Screen Chemistry,” and “Favorite Action Movie” at the 2013 People’s Choice Awards last month.
So, what does his fiance think about the Aussie actor’s blockbuster franchise?
“She got into it after I got the part,” he told Celebuzz. “She has read the first one and liked it. I’m excited for her to see it.”
The actor — who turned the big 2-3 last month — shared the screen with big action stars like Sylvester Stallone, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Bruce Willis in the Expendables 2 last summer and spent much of 2012 filming with veteran actor Harrison Ford for the upcoming release, Paranoia. Before reprising his role as Gale Hawthorne in the next installment of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in November, Hemsworth will appear in the upcoming action-packed flick, Empire alongside Emma Roberts and Nikki Reed and as a soldier who goes AWOL in Love and Honor.
Overall, it’s been a prosperous year for the actor. In June, Hemsworth’s engagement to fellow star Cyrus was made public when the duo stepped out on the town to reveal her 3.5 carat cushion-cut diamond ring, worth an estimated $100k. The couple has also been spotted enjoying the perks of their fame and fortune. In September, the actor was photographed behind the wheel of a brand-new, $200,000 silver McLaren while his wife-to-be sat shotgun.
