SyFy’s insane, made-for-TV Sharknado became one of the most talked about movies on social media in 2013, drawing over 2 million viewers mostly due to the completely idiotic story line (of which I’m still dumbfounded anyone actually paid to have produced).
But the plot line isn’t all that far-fetched to the one of the film’s leading actresses…
Tara Reid fears that a sharknado could actually be a “thing” some day and has a very important PSA for everyone out there reading:
“You know,” she said during an interview with GQ, “It actually can happen. I mean, the chances of it happening are very rare, but it can happen actually. Which is crazy.”
She continues explaining, “Not that it–the chances of it are, like, you know, it’s like probably ‘pigs could fly.’ Like, I don’t think pigs could fly, but actually sharks could be stuck in tornados. There could be a sharknado.”
Wow, Tara. That’s really……. Sciencey of you!
But, um, if some of you out there feel the same as Reid, her co-star Ian Ziering has come advice on how to protect yourself.
“Get the biggest, badass chainsaw you can find,” he says. “And hope for the best.”
I’ll make sure to keep that piece of info tucked away in my back pocket for the day sharknado hits in real life!
And for all you film buffs out there, don’t forget to catch Sharknado 2: The Second One, which premieres next Wednesday, July 30 at 9 p.m. on SyFy.
