Kim Kardashian may be slimming down thanks to all that “waist-training” and all, but her mom Kris Jenner remembers the days when she was just a “chubby” and “awkward” teenager.
While appearing on Dr. Oz this week, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians matriarch recalls the days when her now-famous kids’ appearance were not scrutinized by tabloids.
“They were just like other kids where it was that real chubby stage,” she says of seeing them go through puberty. “Everybody went through it. They had braces, they were awkward. Rob was chubby and that’s when kids need you the most.”
So, how does Jenner help her kids get over those stories regarding Rob Kardashian‘s fluctuating weight and Kendall Jenner‘s alleged desire for a boob job?
“Putting the girls and Rob, now, on magazines definitely sells them, but I taught the kids a long time ago that it starts with when they were younger,” she explains. “I’ve tried hard to raise strong daughters and give them a sense of self-esteem.”
“We’re such a close family we’re always encouraging one another,” Jenner continues. “I think just to be a real supportive parent and tell them how much they are loved and how beautiful they are on the inside. As long as they were okay on the inside, then everything else would be gravy.”
