Renée Zellweger may have faced a lot of backlash when she stepped out looking drastically different at the 2014 ELLE Women In Hollywood Awards this week, but former plastic surgery junkie Heidi Montag thinks the actress’ new look is a-okay.
“I think she looks great,” she told Celebuzz Thursday night, adding, “I don’t know if she had anything done or not.”
Previously, Zellweger insisted that her almost unrecognizable look is in due part to her getting older, explaining to People that, “I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows.”
“My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy. For a long time I wasn’t doing such a good job with that,” the 45-year-old said. “I took a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn’t allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad chooses about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things.”
Previously, Montag opened up about her thoughts on Zellweger’s explanation, telling Extra that she has feels for those in the spotlight who chooses to purposefully change their look.
“I don’t know if Renée Zellweger just aged like she said … for me, when I see people who look totally different, I have empathy. I feel I know why I did it, and it kind of brings it back to that time in my life.”
Montag, who went through infamously underwent 10 cosmetics procedures in one day in 2010, also admitted that she’s put her own plastic surgery days behind her.
“I’m done for sure,” she told us. “I had a breast reduction last year and that was just for medical reasons. I’m going to age gracefully.”
