Emmy Rossum‘s Cosmopolitan interview couldn’t have come at a better time.
Amid the Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton‘s nude photo scandal, in which their very intimate and private pictures were stolen from their personal iCloud accounts and posted online, the Shameless actress’ comments about the dangers of “dirty-texting” have been published. In the article, the October 2014 issue cover girl reveals why “texting is so dangerous” for her.
“I once found a guy I was dating dirty-texting another woman and I completely lost my shit,” Rossum says. “I won’t even give guys my number, because I know me. We’ll start texting and he’ll start emoticon-ing and I’ll start emoticon-ing, and soon we have a big mess. I’m a very flirty person in general.”

Speaking of dating, the 27-year-old also admits that she worries about guys who thinks she acts like her character on Shameless, who is more unabashed about her sexuality than most people.
“I feel like on the first date with a guy he’ll think I’m easy (like Fiona), and that’s so disconcerting,” the actress, who has starred in a few nude sex scenes for on the Showtime series, explains. “It’s not like I haven’t had sex on the first date, but usually that ended up in a two year relationship.”
Rossum, who is now dating screenwriter and director Sam Esmail, adds that she normally won’t go for macho guys.
“I don’t gravitate to the jock; it’s the nerdy guy in the corner,” she says. “Writers are sexy.”
