The 27-year-old superstar gave birth on Monday to a baby boy named David Daniel Otunga Jr., her rep confirmed to People.

The new arrival, who weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, is the first child for Hudson and her fiancé, David Otunga.

"The baby is beautiful and perfect," Hudson's rep said of the birth. "His parents are ecstatic."

The Oscar-winning actress and Grammy-winning singer remained mum about her pregnancy throughout the duration. She and her husband-to-be also shied from wanting to know the sex of their baby in advance.

Hudson's last public appearance before the birth came in July at Michael Jackson's public memorial service, where she sang "Will You Be There."
