LOS ANGELES – Ellen DeGeneres called paramedics after experiencing chest pains yesterday.
The 53-year-old talk show host was suffering from discomfort all evening on Sunday, and when the pain continued into the next day she called the ambulance service.
Within minutes paramedics arrived at the Warner Bros. studios in Los Angeles where she records her series and also a crew from the Burbank Fire Department.
LONDON – Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb has canceled a series of shows in Brazil after he was taken to a British hospital with abdominal pains.
A spokesman for the singer says Gibb suddenly fell ill early Sunday, and that doctors have told him not to travel while they diagnose the problem.

In a statement Thursday, 68-year-old Judy Sheindlin said she was on her way home and expressed appreciation for the "loving messages" she had received.

LOS ANGELES – Zsa Zsa Gabor's publicist says the shock of Elizabeth Taylor's death made Gabor fear she was next and sent her to the hospital with high blood pressure.
John Blanchette says the 94-year-old celebrity was watching the news Wednesday morning at her Los Angeles home when she learned her friend and one-time neighbor had died. Blanchette says Gabor was inconsolable and commented: "Oh, Jane Russell and Liz Taylor - I'm next."
That's a reference to the common myth that celebrity deaths come in threes.
LOS ANGELES – "Autumn Leaves" and "Born Free" pianist Roger Williams is battling pancreatic cancer.
The 86-year-old entertainer known as the "Pianist to the Presidents" because of his many presidential performances writes in an email message to friends that he started chemotherapy last week.
He says doctors told him the tumor cannot be removed because of its size. When chemotherapy shrinks the tumor to an operable size, Williams says surgeons will remove it.
BOSTON – James Taylor says a broken leg won't keep him off the slopes.
An assistant for the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter says Taylor fractured his left fibula and injured his left shoulder in a fall Monday on an expert trail while on a family vacation in Park City, Utah.

LOS ANGELES – Blood flow to Zsa Zsa Gabor's left leg has improved since she was released from a hospital earlier this month, a publicist said Tuesday.
Doctors have been using medications to treat the 94-year-old actress at home after she declined to have the leg amputated when blood flow suddenly stopped, publicist John Blanchette said.
"We don't expect her to get better," said Gabor's husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt. "She will be in bed for the rest of her life."
NEW YORK – TV on the Radio bassist Gerard Smith has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
The group made the announcement on its website Tuesday. The group says Smith is in treatment and won't be able to join its tour, which begins in Austin, Texas, at South by Southwest on Thursday.
