Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough Not Engaged

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Shannon Elizabeth is clearing the air on those pesky little rumors that she's now engaged to boyfriend Derek Hough.

"There's this whole weird rumor going around," the 34-year-old actress explained to People magazine. "One of them says that he proposed and I said no, and the other says he proposed and I said yes, and we're getting married. Neither one is true."

"Luckily he doesn't care," she added. "We were laughing about it."

The "American Pie" star and her 23-year-old beau have been hot and heavy ever since they turned up the heat together on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." Elizabeth said there are no plans to walk down the aisle anytime soon, especially since the couple is "really happy the way we are." Still, the Texas native admitted she's keeping a close eye on the upcoming pairings for the latest "Dancing" season.

"We have no clue who the costar's going to be," she told People of Hough's potential new partner in crime. "I'm hoping ... [it's someone] who's like 70, 80 years old."
