HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — They have been a couple since 2002, yet Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri still don't have any plans for a wedding. But that hasn't stopped outside forces from putting in their two cents.
"So many people were putting pressure on [Jermaine], then they started pressuring me," Jackson tells The Insider. "Everybody would ask us about it — even friends."
Jackson, who has been married twice before, first to James DeBarge (from 1984 to 1985) and then to Rene Elizondo (from 1986 to 1999), has a new album, "Discipline," coming out on Feb. 26. Her producer beau says that's the main focus right now.
"We're just excited about this new album coming out and that's what's going on," Dupri told Usmagazine.com last weekend at his Grammy Awards party held at Central Hollywood Lounge.
With Jackson busy thanks to the new release, Dupri says he likes to indulge in one of his favorite guilty pleasures to occupy his time.
"I like to sit at home and play video games for hours," the record producer admits. "I'm a video game fanatic. I play online and my name online is def1472 and anybody out there, want to play me, I'll play you.
"I play Guitar Hero," he adds to Us. "You see my name, I'll play you and I'll beat your a--, I swear!"
Meanwhile, Jackson says she's keeping an open outlook on the future, including becoming a mother for the first time.
"If it's [meant] to happen, it'll happen," she tells People. "I like where we are, and I'm happy where I am. I've done it twice before. I'm afraid I might be a jinx. I might be allergic to marriage."
"We both would love to have kids," she adds. "Someday I know it's going to happen. Exactly when, I don't know."
