Sophia Bush is constantly on the go. In between acting, standing up for women’s rights and spreading cultural] awareness through humanitarian efforts, the 35-year-old actress is leaning in in every possible direction. So when we caught up with her while she was busy promoting a new cause close to her, speaking to women about their birth control options through the #NoHormonesPlz campaign, we wanted to know what she does on her down time.
“To unwind? If only I had more time!” Bush told us while sitting down for our 5 Questions video series. “I kind of feel like I am always scheduled within five minutes so I try to take moments, like if I am in a cab on the way to the airport to put my headphones in and do a guided meditation app. Or if I know I’ve got a little free time to Facetime a friend, anything that sort of makes me feel like I having a little bit of ‘me time.'”

Bush didn’t gain such wisdom overnight. In fact, the actress and social activist told us exactly what she wish she had known when she was in her 20s.

“The advice I would give to my younger self — or really any young woman who is trying to find her place in the world — is just to stop worrying about being somebody else’s definition of enough,” Bush shared.
She continued: “I was speaking in a conference with Glennon Doyle and the best thing she talked about how our mistakes are really the things that make us who we are. I look back at all of the messy aspects of my 20s and I know that the woman that I am in my 30s was equally influenced by those things as by you know everything that I was able to achieve.”
