Nate Berkus Shares his Stunning L.A. Home and Hints Daughter Poppy May Soon Have a Sibling

By Celebrity News Wire on December 7, 2017

Nate Berkus and husband Jeremiah Brent initially deemed the 9,000-square-foot Spanish Colonial they now call home way too grandiose, but not if they have a couple more kid in their future.

“Our immediate reaction was, Who lives like this? Certainly not us.” Berkus tells Architectural Digest in the magazine’s January issue. But Brent, also an interior designer, says they quickly changed their tune when they saw the picture-perfect yard, complete with a big oak tree ready for a swing — and some future Brent-Berkus babies.

“We pictured Poppy, and eventually the rest of our family, planing under that tree, and we thought this was a place we could put down roots,” he says.

A run-in with the then-owners of the1928 house in Los Angeles’s genteel Hancock Park neighborhood sealed the deal. The mother-daughter duo was sipping wine in the light-filled kitchen and painted an ideal picture of the dads’ future with their family. “Jeremiah and I had the exact same thought — that we’d like to raise kids who want to hang out with us when they grow up,” says Berkus. “There was a lot of love there and you could feel that energy.”
