Angelina Jolie Meets Flood Victims in Pakistan

By Amber Sterling on September 9, 2010

During a satellite interview with CNN's Sanjay Gupta on Wednesday, Jolie admitted she doesn't have many people in her life she can confide in except her partner Brad Pitt and their six children.

"I talk to my family - I talk to Brad," explained Jolie, who is currently in Pakistan to assist flood victims in the country. "He wants to know as much as he can about these issues and every trip. And he's been here as well. He came here with me after the earthquake in 2005.

"I don't have a lot of friends I talk to. He's really the only person I talk to. But I told my children. I think it also helps them to be better people to understand a little bit about the world."

Jolie, who is visiting Pakistan in her role as the UN's Goodwill Ambassador, also said she is overwhelmed by the complex issues facing the country.

"I think it's complicated," she explained. "I'm here with UNHCR and they've been in this country for 32 years, and I've been here four times and there's been four different reasons to come. There's one crisis after another. They've pretty much confronted every different type of disaster.

"We tend to focus on one issue at a time but Pakistan, as you know, is so complex because it has not just the people from the flood and the 18 million affected now but it still has the 1.7 million Afghan people who are here who have been displaced."
