LOS ANGELES – Zsa Zsa Gabor's celebrity was always more about winning attention than winning film roles. But now, the ailing 94-year-old diva's final fade is being upstaged by a real-life Hollywood soap opera featuring a family fractured by fame, fortune, deceit and just plain weirdness.

Zsa Zsa Gabor Hospitalized After Liz Taylor Death
Submitted by Associated Press on March 24, 2011
LOS ANGELES – Zsa Zsa Gabor's publicist says the shock of Elizabeth Taylor's death made Gabor fear she was next and sent her to the hospital with high blood pressure.
John Blanchette says the 94-year-old celebrity was watching the news Wednesday morning at her Los Angeles home when she learned her friend and one-time neighbor had died. Blanchette says Gabor was inconsolable and commented: "Oh, Jane Russell and Liz Taylor - I'm next."
That's a reference to the common myth that celebrity deaths come in threes.
Blanchette says Gabor's blood pressure soared and she was taken to the hospital but released Wednesday evening.
Gabor has been in ill health and her right leg was partially amputated in January.

LOS ANGELES – Blood flow to Zsa Zsa Gabor's left leg has improved since she was released from a hospital earlier this month, a publicist said Tuesday.
Doctors have been using medications to treat the 94-year-old actress at home after she declined to have the leg amputated when blood flow suddenly stopped, publicist John Blanchette said.
"We don't expect her to get better," said Gabor's husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt. "She will be in bed for the rest of her life."
Gabor has been receiving nutrition through a feeding tube and doesn't want any additional surgeries, he said.
Most of Gabor's right leg was amputated in January because of gangrene.

LOS ANGELES – Doctors say Zsa Zsa Gabor needs to have her remaining leg amputated, but the 94-year-old actress is declining the surgery. Publicist John Blanchette says Gabor will be released from the hospital Friday. She was admitted Wednesday after blood flow to her left leg suddenly stopped.

Gabor's husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, says the actress is taking medication and has "a 50-50 chance" of surviving for another year without surgery.
Gabor has been hospitalized repeatedly since July, when she broke her hip falling from bed.

LOS ANGELES — Zsa Zsa Gabor's condition is improving after she underwent surgery on Saturday in Los Angeles.
The 93-year-old actress had two blood clots removed from her upper body, including one that was located extremely close to her heart, her publicist told the Associated Press.
Rep John Blanchette said the Hollywood icon is now resting comfortably at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center. She will likely be released from the hospital on either Monday or Tuesday.
Gabor was rushed to the hospital on Friday afternoon because she was bleeding and in a lot of pain, Blanchette said.
It is the latest medical setback for Gabor, who had hip replacement surgery in July and had just returned home from the hospital on Wednesday.

"We're all very relieved," said Blanchette. "Her doctors are happy with the results."
The 93-year-old star was watching Jeopardy on Saturday night when she reached to answer the phone and fell. While Gabor has been mostly confined to a wheelchair since a 2002 car accident, her daughter insists this latest health setback isn't dire.
