HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Crystal Bowersox wowed the judges with a stunning performance on American Idol Wednesday night, one day after she was hospitalized with complications from diabetes.

The 24-year-old singer hit the stage with a gospel take on Creedence Clearwater Revival's "As Long As I Can See the Light."

"This is who you are," praised Idol judge Kara DioGuardi. "You are centered, you are focused the way that the greats are."

"I completely underestimated you," added Simon Cowell, who went on to compare the Ohio native to season one winner Kelly Clarkson.

The hospital trip forced Idol into a last-minute switch that moved the top 10 male contestants to Tuesday, delaying the top 10 women for a night.

As for Bowersox, she assured everyone that she'll be fine.

"I'm a tough cookie," she said.
