Prosecutors Urge Reality TV Producer's Extradition

A prosecution brief filed Thursday calls Bruce Beresford-Redman's efforts to call his daughter as a witness during an upcoming extradition hearing an effort to distract the court from overwhelming evidence that he killed his wife.

BET Networks said Wednesday that the entertainers will appear on Sunday's ceremony, which will be broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

They'll join a star-studded lineup set to include performances by Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, Jill Scott, Drake and Mary J. Blige.

'Mad Men' Star Jon Hamm Signs New 3-Year Contract

Jon Hamm, who plays 1960s advertising executive Draper on AMC's "Mad Men," has signed a new contract with series studio Lionsgate Television Group. Hamm's publicist, Slate PR, said Tuesday that the deal keeps him with the show for three more years.

The actor will receive a substantial raise for the upcoming fifth season. By the contract's final year, he'll earn more than $250,000 an episode, Variety.com reported, citing unidentified sources.

Keith Olbermann's New Current TV Show Attracts Young Adult Viewers

According to Nielsen Co. ratings, Olbermann's new "Countdown" drew 179,000 viewers age 25 to 54, the young adult demographic favored by advertisers. Figures for total viewers in the 8 p.m. EDT Monday hour were not immediately available.

Recording Academy, CBS Enter 10-Year Grammy Deal

The Recording Academy announced Tuesday that it had reached a new deal to keep the awards show on the network, where the Grammys have aired since 1973. The network will also broadcast the now annual nominations concert special, which this year will air Nov. 30.

The Grammys are set for Feb. 12, 2012.

Both events will air live from Los Angeles.

Keith Olbermann Returns to the Air on Current TV

Five months after his abrupt departure from MSNBC, the outspokenly liberal host premiered on the Current TV network Monday night awash in media attention to his arrival at a new home.

His new nightly show, like the old one, is called "Countdown," and it retains the signature musical riff from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
