LOS ANGELES — Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have split after more than two decades together, with the couple going their separate ways months ago.

"Actress Susan Sarandon and her partner of 23 years, actor Tim Robbins have announced that they separated over the summer," her rep confirmed Wednesday in a statement. "No further comments will be made."

Sarandon, 63, and Robbins, 51, met on the set of the 1988 baseball film Bull Durham. They have two sons — Jack Henry, 20, and Miles Guthrie, 17.

Sarandon also has a 24-year-old daughter, Eva, from a previous relationship with Italian director Franco Amurri.

Sarandon and Robbins have been some of the most outspoken political activists in Hollywood over the years.
