The trash-talking 35-year-old veteran of the CBS reality series overcame wacky 52-year-old former federal agent Phillip Sheppard and 19-year-old dancer Natalie Tenerelli to take home the $1 million grand prize on Sunday's finale of "Survivor: Redemption Island." Mariano said he earned eight votes from the nine-person jury of dismissed contestants.

Richard Hatch, pictures, picture, photos, photo, pics, pic, images, image, hot, sexy, latest, new, 2011PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A judge in Rhode Island has denied reality TV star Richard Hatch's bail request pending an appeal of a nine-month prison sentence for failing to pay taxes on the $1 million he won on the first season of the hit show "Survivor."

Hatch, who is being held in Brooklyn, N.Y., spent over three years in prison for tax evasion. Released in 2009, he was ordered to refile his 2000 and 2001 taxes and pay what he owed. A judge in March ruled he never did and returned him to prison.

The "Survivor" host and executive producer will return for the next two seasons of the CBS reality TV competition, the network announced Wednesday.

Probst, who has won three outstanding reality TV host Emmys for his role as Tribal Council moderator, has hosted the contest featuring castaways outwitting, outplaying and outlasting each other for $1 million since it debuted in 2000.

Russell Hantz and "Boston" Rob Mariano will renew their heated rivalry on the upcoming Survivor: Redemption Island, CBS confirmed Thursday.

The two join the previously announced 16 other members of the cast, which will be divided into two tribes – Ometepe and Zapatera.

Johnson will be among 20 castaways competing for the million dollar prize when the show's 21st season kicks off on a new night, Wednesday, Sept. 15  at 8 p.m. ET.

Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson will be a contestant on the CBS show's upcoming 21st season, the Dallas Morning News reports. The network began filming the latest cycle last month in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.

Diaz-Twine became the show's first two-time winner by using the same strategy that worked for her in the Pearl Islands. She earned her payday by outlasting fellow finalists (and villains) Parvati Shallow and Russell Hantz.
