ESPN's Steve Phillips Fired Following Affair Scandal

"Steve Phillips is no longer working for ESPN," network spokesman Josh Krulewitz said in a statement. "His ability to be an effective representative for ESPN has been significantly and irreparably damaged, and it became evident it was time to part ways."

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland Raiders are seeing a deeper meaning in the pigeon who lined up alongside them last weekend.

During last Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, a pigeon stormed down the field alongside the Raiders' special teams unit. Several players have since stated that the extra star had to be Marquis Cooper, the Raiders linebacker who died in March in a tragic Florida boating accident.

"It kind of gives you a different perspective on things," Raiders running back Justin Fargas told Sacramento radio station KHTK. "It was definitely a strange event seeing that bird flying out there. It seemed comfortable on the football field and comfortable lying down there literally on special teams. It very well could have been Marquis."

The New York Post broke the news that Phillips had been having an affair that turned ugly when the woman allegedly started to harass his family after the pair broke up.

He was 76.

According to the Miami Herald, Albano died while he was under hospice care. An official cause of death was not immediately disclosed.

Soccer Star Charlie Davies Injured in Car Accident

Davies was traveling with two people when the single-car accident happened around 3:15 a.m. along the George Washington Memorial Parkway in Virginia. Ashley J. Roberta, 22, of Phoenix, Md. was killed in the collision, while Davies and the other traveler were both transported to Washington Hospital Center Medstar for treatment.

The tennis champ and golf legend announced their split Friday in a brief statement to the Associated Press.

"We will remain friends and supportive of one another's family," the couple said.

Evert and Norman, both 54, were married in a sunset ceremony in the Bahamas on June 28, 2008. It was the third trip to the altar for the 18-time Grand Slam winner and second for the man known as "The Shark."

Tequila, 27, called police around 3:45 a.m. after Merriman allegedly refused to let her leave his home in Poway, Calif., located just north of San Diego. Tequila alleged that the Pro Bowl star choked her and threw her to the ground. She later signed a citizen's arrest warrant, charging Merriman with battery and false imprisonment.
