NEW YORK — Scarlett Johansson is headed for the bright lights of New York City.
The 24-year-old actress will make her Broadway debut in a revival of playwright Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge, the show's organizers announced Monday.
Johansson will also star alongside Tony Award-winner Liev Schreiber in the drama, which is set in 1950s America.
Schreiber will portray a Brooklyn longshoreman who becomes obsessed with his 17-year-old orphaned niece, played by Johansson, after she falls in love with a newly arrived Italian immigrant.
Johansson is the latest Hollywood star to head for Broadway, following the likes of Jude law, Hugh Jackman, Daniel Craig, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Katie Holmes and most recently, Sienna Miller.
