NEW YORK – NBC's "Saturday Night Live" has lined up Elton John and Helen Mirren for hosting duties on back-to-back shows in April.
The network announced Tuesday that John will pull double duty on April 2. He'll host and share the stage with fellow musical guest Leon Russell. John will debut as host. It's his first return to the show in nearly three decades.
On April 9, the Oscar-winning Mirren will make her "SNL" debut, with musical guest the Foo Fighters.

NEW YORK – Miley Cyrus has met her "Saturday Night Live" impression while lampooning a fellow teen pop star herself.
Cyrus hosted "SNL" on Saturday night, leading to an inevitable face-off between the 18-year-old singer and cast member Vanessa Bayer's parody. But Cyrus appeared on Bayer's "The Miley Cyrus Show" not as herself, but 17-year-old Justin Bieber.
Cyrus played Bieber as too hip to use Bayer's enthusiastic "pretty cool" catch phrase.

NEW YORK – NBC says Miley Cyrus will be making her first appearance as guest host of "Saturday Night Live" this week.
The network said Monday that the multiplatinum-selling singer will be joined by musical guests The Strokes.
A week later on March 12, Zach Galifianakis makes his return visit to "SNL" as guest host with musical guest Jessie J.
Galifianakis stars on the HBO comedy series "Bored to Death." He has just finished filming "The Hangover 2."

NEW YORK — Justin Bieber showed off his comedy chops on last night's SNL broadcast, hosted by Dana Carvey.
In one sketch, the 16-year-old teen idol managed to get Carvey's popular "Church Lady" character all hot and bothered, prompting her to admit that Bieber made her "naughty parts tingle."

NEW YORK — Katy Perry poked fun at her recent Sesame Street controversy by playing a busty teenager last night on SNL.
For the skit, Perry took on the role of Maureen Dichico, a teen whose boobs have been getting lots of attention while she volunteers at the local library. The situation leads to her appearing on the mock talk show, Bronx Beat, hosted by SNL stars Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph.

NEW YORK — No joke: Will Forte is leaving Saturday Night Live.
"After eight great seasons, Will has made the decision to move on from SNL to pursue new opportunities," his rep told the New York Times Thursday in a statement. "He is eternally grateful to [executive producer] Lorne [Michaels] and all of the incredible people he worked with over the years."

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Betty White finally made it to Saturday Night Live!
The loveable actress drew rave reviews as host of last night's show, a gig she's turned down three times in the past. Her visit came about as a result of a Facebook campaign, which the 88-year-old White mocked in her opening monologue.
"When I was young we didn't have Facebook, we had phone book," she said, "but you wouldn't waste an afternoon with it."
