HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Brody Jenner and Jayde Nicole apparently won't be ringing in the New Year together.

The reality TV star and the Playboy Playmate have split after more than a year of dating, a source close to Jenner tells Us Weekly.

No other details about the breakup were revealed.

The couple's relationship was on full display in the recently-concluded fifth season of The Hills, which featured Nicole blasting her beau's relationship with ex-girlfriend Kristin Cavallari.

Nicole also hinted at trouble brewing in her relationship with Jenner in a message posted Dec. 18 on her Twitter page.

"'Sometimes when you truly love someone you have to let them go.....' I never really understood that quote until now," she wrote.

One day later, Jenner posted his own message on Twitter, saying wasn't rushing to get home from a vacation Down Under.

"So I decided to stay in Australia BY MYSELF!!!," he said. "Hahaha this is Crazy.. Might just stay here and start a new life."

Over the summer, Jenner and Nicole famously got into a fight with Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis at the West Hollywood hotspot Guys & Dolls.
