"Pants on the Ground" Original Video: While remixes have been popping up all over the Web, the "Pants on the Ground" original video by General Larry Platt remains the biggest hit.
The 63-year-old Platt captivated American Idol viewers Wednesday night with his performance of "Pants on the Ground," a song about low-riding pants that immediately went viral.
"Pants on the ground, pants on the ground, lookin' like a fool with your pants on the ground," go Platt's lyrics. "With the gold in your mouth, hat turned sideway, pants hit the ground / Call yourself a cool cat, looking like a fool, walkin' downtown with your pants on the ground!"
"I have a horrible feeling that song could be a hit," admitted Idol judge Simon Cowell.
Platt's song may be the biggest hit of the season, but he missed the cut since he is well over the show's 28-year age limit. Still, that hasn't stopped his popularity or the countless remixes that have followed since his Idol appearance. Even late-night host Jimmy Fallon got into the action as he whipped out his Neil Young impersonation for his own "Pants on the Ground" rendition.

A song was wrote by me back in the late 90's when this fad started, of course the general population knows the whereabouts of the fad, it came from prisoners that were willing to share a little with other prisoners. I have seen where it(words only) recently has been on the net in a few chat rooms. I won't accuse any one of plagiarism, but I did learn long ago that most blacks still believe that everything the white man has invented, he some how more or less stole it from the black fellow, so an argument would as always be futile. It's like Ice T said, "I work for art"....

It went on for about 10 verses. Of course it was OK for the blacks to kill cops and hate whites in their songs, and I got a lot of negativity from people so I buried it. Now that absurdity and stupitity are normal, "pants on the ground" will probably do well regardless of "who" actually wrote it.
