HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — When it comes to looking back on her past struggles, Nicole Richie takes full responsibility for her actions.

"People ask me, do I blame Hollywood or my parents?" the 28-year-old startlet tells the October issue of Britain's InStyle magazine. "No, I don't blame my parents. It had nothing to do with them. I created it and manifested it, and I got myself through it with the help of a lot of great people."

She adds, "One thing about me is that I've always taken responsibility for my own actions, whether they're good or bad. Even when I was going through my tough time, that was a situation that I created."

Now the proud mother of two young children, Harlow, 2½, and Sparrow, 11 months, Richie loves to party at home now, despite a hectic lifestyle that includes her Winter Kate fashion line.

"Well, I don't have a hat and an apron, but I entertain people at home a lot," she tells the mag. "I love cooking for other people. My house is pretty eclectic. I think it represents me well. It's fun and comfortable at the same time and it's a place where a lot of people like to be. It has a lot of people in and out all the time."
