'New Moon' Smashes Opening Day Sales Record

LOS ANGELES — The Twilight Saga: New Moon smashed the opening day sales record by raking in $72.7 million at the box office Friday, distributor Summit Entertainment has revealed.

The total shattered the previous single-day domestic ticket sales record of $67.2 million, set last year by The Dark Knight.

The vampire saga also broke the record for midnight ticket sales Thursday night, bringing in a whopping $26.3 million in revenue.

New Moon is the second installment of the hit franchise, which is based on Stephanie Meyer's bestselling series about a family of vampires.

Edward and his family leave Forks because he believes he is endangering Bella's life. Bella falls into a deep depression, until she develops a strong friendship with Jacob Black, who she discovers can shape shift into a wolf. Jacob and the other wolves in his tribe must protect her from Victoria, a vampire seeking to avenge her mate, James' death, by killing Bella 000-223 exam. A misunderstanding occurs, and Edward believes Bella is dead. Edward decides to commit suicide in Volterra, Italy, but he is stopped by Bella, who is accompanied by Edward's sister, Alice. They meet with the Volturi, a powerful vampire coven 640-460 exam, and are released only on the condition that Bella be turned into a vampire in the near future. Bella and Edward are reunited 70-298 exam, and she and the Cullens return to Forks.
