LOS ANGELES — The biggest stars in music put on an amazing red carpet show at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards held Sunday night in Los Angeles.
Among those earning best dressed nods on the red carpet were Ashley Greene, Audrina Patridge, Emma Stone, Maria Menounos, Selena Gomez, Sophia Vergara and Victoria Justice.

LOS ANGELES — Rapper will.i.am is defending his blackface outfit at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards held Sunday in Los Angeles.
The Black Eyed Peas star sparked the controversy when he painted his face black and dressed in all-black for his performance alongside Nicki Minaj.

LOS ANGELES — Kanye West had the last word - or song - at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards held Sunday night in Los Angeles.
In the final VMA performance of the night, West took the stage in an electric red suit for the debut of his new song, "Runaway."

LOS ANGELES — Taylor Swift managed to keep the stage to herself at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.
A year after Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech for best female video, The 20-year-old country star sang about the incident in a new untitled song.
Swift's performance began with video clips of the infamous stage-crashing moment.

LOS ANGELES — Lady Gaga won a record eight moonmen trophies, including video of the year, to dominate the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards held Sunday night in Los Angeles.
Gaga accepted the evening's top prize in a meat dress - a controversial outfit made out of what appeared to be raw cuts of beef.
Eminem, who opened this year's awards with a triumphant performance, walked away with two statues for best male video and best hip-hop video.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Taylor Swift reportedly has a special treat in store for Kanye West at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
The 20-year-old country star is planning to sing a song about West at Sunday's ceremony, a source tells the Associated Press.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — One year after he famously stole the microphone and cut off Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the VMAs, Kanye West has issued another apology to the country star.
The hip-hop star took to Twitter on Saturday to reflect back on the incident and ask Swift - and his fans - for forgiveness.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Eminem will perform at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, organizers announced Monday.
The 37-year-old rapper led all male artists with eight VMA nominations, including best male video and video of the year for "Not Afraid." He joins previously announced performers Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Drake, B.o.B and Florence + The Machine.
Eminem made headlines earlier this month when he lashed out at the timing of next month's VMA ceremony.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Prepare the sensor buttons, Chelsea Handler has been tapped to host the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards.
"Everyone knows that when you think of rap music and hip-hop you think of Chelsea Lately. And that's why I will be hosting [the show]," Handler quipped when she broke the news Wednesday night on her popular E! show. "Let the ass-kissing begin."

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Clear the stage, Kanye West is coming back.
One year after he famously stole the microphone and cut off Taylor Swift's acceptance speech, the hip-hop star is returning to MTV's Video Music Awards, the network announced Thursday.
West, who has a new album dropping in the fall, will take the stage at next month's ceremony. Also lined up to perform is Canadian rapper Drake and UK indie favorite Florence + The Machine.
