HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Mel Gibson is opening up about his new baby daughter, Lucia, with girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

"She looks like her mother, except she's got blue eyes," the actor told Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his new film, Edge of Darkness, held Tuesday night in Hollywood.

Gibson, 54, and Grigorieva, 39, welcomed their first child together in November. The couple announced the pregnancy in June, just six weeks after the Braveheart star's wife, Robyn, filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage.

In addition to the excitement of a new baby, Gibson is looking forward to his acting return in Edge, which opens in theaters this weekend.

"I needed that thrill back," he told ET. "After seven years, it felt like time to hop back in the saddle."

Last week, the Oscar winner joined fellow stars by answering the phones during the "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon, which raised money for victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

"Some of those calls were heartbreaking," admitted Gibson.
