The Rev's Cause of Death Deferred After Initial Autopsy

Jimmy Sullivan, The Rev HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — An autopsy on the body of musician Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan was completed on Tuesday, but authorities have deferred his official cause of death for several weeks.

The final determination is pending the receipt of additional toxicology, microscopic and laboratory tests that have been ordered by the Orange County coroner's office, police spokesman Jim Amormino told the Orange County Register.

The 28-year-old Avenged Sevenfold drummer was found dead Monday at the Huntington Beach home he shared with his wife, Leana MacFadden.

Jimmy Sullivan, The Rev HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy Sullivan, better known as "The Rev," was found dead Monday at his Southern California home. He was 28.

Sullivan was discovered unresponsive at his Huntington Beach house at 11 a.m., authorities said.

"The cause of death is still under investigation," Deputy Coroner Mitchell Sigal told the Los Angeles Times. "An autopsy has been scheduled."

Founded in 1999, Avenged Sevenfold was named best new artist at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. The feat came on the heels of their major label debut album, City of Evil.
