HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jennifer Love Hewitt has been hurt by reports claiming her relationship with Jamie Kennedy is on the skids.

"I'm not going to lie – it's not annoying, it's hurtful," the Ghost Whisperer star tells People of the breakup rumors. "It's really hurtful that people say that, because he is like the most awesome person."

Hewitt, 30, and Kennedy, 39, have been dating for eight months and she insists the funnyman is a real gem.

"I really hate that people would make it seem like he's not really a good guy, and not treating me well," she tells the mag. "He treats me very well."

For his part, Kennedy says he's "lucky" to be dating Hewitt and insists that he's still very much in love with her.

"We are just trying to be really happy," says Hewitt. "It makes it hard to do that when everybody is putting negative energy out there."
