HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Bethenny Frankel, who got engaged earlier this month to boyfriend Jason Hoppy, is pregnant with her first child.

Frankel confirmed the pregnancy Tuesday on her Twitter page, albeit reluctantly after celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton began spreading the news.

"I'm pregnant," wrote the Real Housewives of New York City star, who is two months along. "I had to be true w u but was unfairly forced to come forward early."

Frankel said she was disappointed that the pregnancy announcement went down as it did.

"It's not the way I wanted it to get out," she told People. "I haven't even gone through my first trimester. We haven't even heard the heartbeat. My [fiancé's] parents didn't even know."

Frankel and Hoppy, both 38, got engaged on Oct. 8 after dating for 11 months.

"I got to be honest, we are both feeling kind of proud of ourselves," Frankel told the mag. "We are both 38 and we were like, 'Listen, your fish can swim and I am fertile.' So that's exciting."

Frankel described the couple's courtship as being "like the Triple Crown" and said they plan to get married before their baby arrives.

"I got engaged, we got pregnant and we're gonna get married," she said. "It's a miracle."
