MONTECITO, Calif. — Heather Locklear was arrested Saturday afternoon in the Santa Barbara area on suspicion of driving under the influence, the Associated Press reports.

The 47-year-old actress was stopped by authorities after a local reported seeing someone "driving erratically," patrol spokesman Tom Marshall told AP. At the time of her arrest, Locklear was parked on the state highway and blocking a lane.

After speaking with Locklear, the officer determined the former "Melrose Place" star was under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. She was arrested and booked at 7 p.m, AP says.

Locklear, who checked into an Arizona facility in June for anxiety and depression treatment, was later released from police custody.

Her publicist has yet to comment on the arrest.
