LOS ANGELES — It was a star-studded affair Friday night at the 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards in Los Angeles.

Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that also produces the Los Angeles Film Festival, handed out top honors to Precious and Crazy Heart at the milestone ceremony, held at L.A. Live's event deck. (500) Days of Summer, Anvil! The Story of Anvil, An Education, Humpday, The Messenger, and A Serious Man also received awards at the event, which was broadcast live on IFC.

Acclaimed comedian Eddie Izzard was Master of Ceremonies, while Ben Stiller served as Honorary Chair.

Among the stars gracing the red carpet were Adrien Brody, Andy Garcia, Brittany Snow, Carey Mulligan, Dana Delaney, Dave Grohl, David Spade, Emmy Rossum, Ethan Hawke, Gabourey Sidibe, Helen Mirren, Jeff Bridges, Jodie Foster, Lenny Kravitz, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Mariah Carey, Matt Dillon, Mena Suvari, Mo'Nique, Olivia Wilde, Pierce Brosnan, Robert Duvall, Roger Ebert, Rosario Dawson and Taraji P. Henson.
