LOS ANGELES – Sir Elton John took his baby son to visit a dolphin last Thursday.
The 64-year-old musician was joined by his husband David Furnish and nine-month-old Zachary - who the gay couple welcomed into the world via a surrogate in December 2010 - on a trip to the Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta, where he shook flippers with the friendly creature on a behind-the-scenes tour of the center.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Singer Elton John is urging Florida Gov. Rick Scott to protect a program that helps low-income HIV/AIDS patients get medication needed to control the virus.
John, founder of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, wrote to Scott on Tuesday after hearing the Department of Health was considering changes in income eligibility.

CAP D'ANTIBES, France – Elton John has dedicated an AIDS benefit dinner to the late American actress Elizabeth Taylor, an early pioneer in the fight against the disease.
John has called Taylor a "force of nature" and pledged she'll remain the star-studded charity event's "guiding star." Taylor died in March.

NEW YORK – In a waterfront celebration a stone's throw from where the World Trade Center towers stood, the 10th annual Tribeca Film Festival opened with music and a movie Wednesday.
Tribeca has made flashy, populist festivities a central component over the years, so Elton John was a good fit. First, Cameron Crowe's documentary on the collaboration between John and Leon Russell, "The Union," screened. It was followed by a short performance by John.

LAS VEGAS – Elton John is returning to the Las Vegas Strip for a three-year run at Caesars Palace.
The five-time Grammy winner announced Monday he'll return with his "Million Dollar Piano" show to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas starting in September.
Tickets for the first 16 shows go on sale April 25.

PITTSBURGH – Elton John paid tribute to Elizabeth Taylor during a concert in Pittsburgh by dedicating a song to the movie icon and AIDS activist.
Taylor died Wednesday. The singer is also active in AIDS awareness and said during Wednesday night's concert that it was "a sad day because today I lost a friend and you lost a hero."
In Live Nation video supplied to WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, John says Taylor "stood up when no one was prepared to stand up and be counted against AIDS."

NEW YORK – NBC's "Saturday Night Live" has lined up Elton John and Helen Mirren for hosting duties on back-to-back shows in April.
The network announced Tuesday that John will pull double duty on April 2. He'll host and share the stage with fellow musical guest Leon Russell. John will debut as host. It's his first return to the show in nearly three decades.
On April 9, the Oscar-winning Mirren will make her "SNL" debut, with musical guest the Foo Fighters.

NEW YORK – The Tribeca Film Festival will open with Cameron Crowe's documentary "The Union" and a performance by its subject, Elton John.
Opening night of the 10th annual Tribeca Film Festival was announced Wednesday. Crowe's film, which depicts the recent collaboration between John and Leon Russell, will premiere April 20 at a free, outdoor screening at the World Financial Plaza.
John will perform after the film.

LONDON – Elton John and partner David Furnish are planning to attend the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton next month.
The singer has told a Canadian TV talk show that they have received an invitation to the big event at Westminster Abbey on April 29.
John was a close friend of William's mother, Princess Diana, and sang his song "Candle In the Wind" at her funeral in 1997.
