CHICAGO – Three teenagers were charged Monday in the death of Derrion Albert, whose violent beating was captured on a cell phone video.

The Chicago honor roll student was on his way home from school last Thursday when he found himself in the middle of a street fight near the Agape Community Center.

The uncut video shows Albert first being struck in the head by a wooden plank. He is then kicked by the group while laying defenseless on the ground.

The fatal attack has put pressure on Chicago official to address the city's escalating violence problem among teens. Last year, more than 30 students were killed during the school year.
