Demi Lovato Announces Summer Concert Tour Dates with David Archuleta

By Rich King on April 15, 2009

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Demi Lovato has another busy summer on the way.

The 16-year-old star Disney star has announced plans to embark on a North American summer concert tour, in which she'll be joined by last year's "American Idol" runner-up, David Archuleta.

The pair will kick off their 47-city run, appropriately titled Summer Tour 2009, on June 21 in Hartford, Conn.

"I'm so excited about headlining my own tour. I love life on the road. I’m in a different city every night and it never gets old," the "Sonny with a Chance" star told People.

Lovato and Archuleta will be joined on select dates by fellow music artists Jordin Pruitt and KSM.

Tickets for the concert run go on sale April 25.

It will be the second straight busy summer for Lovato, who spent last year opening for her "Camp Rock" co-stars, The Jonas Brothers, during their tour.

Lovato is currently busy in the studio recording a follow-up to her September 2008 debut album, "Don't Forget."
