HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — "American Idol" contestant David Cook was rushed to the hospital after experiencing heart palpitations and high blood pressure following Tuesday night's show, TMZ reports.
The 25-year-old rocker suffers from high blood pressure and was feeling ill all day, but still managed to perform Dolly Parton's "Little Sparrow" on last night's live show. He was treated for high blood pressure and released.
An "American Idol" source tells TMZ that Cook has been upset over the condition of his brother, who is sick with cancer and had a setback with his treatment last week.
Cook, who is considered a strong contender for this year's title, had another incident earlier this season when he collapsed prior to going on stage. The singer bounced back, however, and still managed to perform.
