Keys, whose hits include "Fallin'" and "A Woman's Worth," will help produce the play "Stick Fly."
The Lydia R. Diamond work is described as a contemporary comedy of manners revolving around an affluent black family. Keys says it's a story that everyone can relate to.

NEW YORK — Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz have welcomed a baby boy!
The "No One" singer gave birth to son Egypt Daoud Dean in New York City Thursday, the couple's rep has confirmed to MTV News.
"I'm so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life wowwwwww!," Swizz Beatz said on Twitter.

With a baby on the way, the couple married Saturday in front of close family and friends at a private home on the Mediterranean Sea. The wedding ceremony was presided over by Dr. Deepak Chopra.
The bride wore a Vera Wang gown while the groom was decked out in a Tom Ford tuxedo.

NEW ORLEANS — Pregnant R&B star Alicia Keys frightened fans on Saturday when she fell onstage at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.
The 29-year-old singer was performing "Love is Blind" when she stumbled and landed on her backside. Keys, who was hearing high heels, quickly recovered and took a seat at the piano to finish the song.
The Grammy winner's baby-to-be is reportedly fine after the fall.
Keys was one of the weekend headliners at the 16th annual event, sharing the bill with Janet Jackson and Mary J. Blige.
A rep for the singer confirmed in May that Keys was pregnant and expecting her first child with boyfriend Swizz Beatz. The twosome, who began dating in fall 2008, are also engaged to be married.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Alicia Keys is jumping into the fashion business with a jewelry collection that she hopes to inspire others with.
The 12-time Grammy award-winning R&B star is teaming up with jewelry designer Gisèle Theriault for The Barber's Daughters, a collection of necklaces due out in fall 2010. The product line will be comprised of sterling silver and gemstone pieces, each inscribed with poetry and prayers of Masaru Emoto, the author of The Hidden Messages in Water, according to Women's Wear Daily.
