By now we all know that Community was brought back to life by Yahoo and now we’re getting some details about the forthcoming sixth season. Creator Dan Harmon spoke at a Comic-Con panel this week alongside the show’s stars Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Dino Stamatopoulos, providing some details about what the show will look like on Yahoo Screen.
For one, the show won’t have to adhere to the rules of network television, but don’t expect it to look like something on HBO either. “My philosophy is [to] attempt to make the same show, and let the lack of boundaries make themselves felt,” Harmon said. “I don’t want to take the wheels off so much that people think, ‘Well, this is just some new show.’”
Harmon also divulged some details from the production of the sixth season, saying that writing won’t start until the fall and the show won’t debut at least until after Christmas. Harmon also confirmed that the show will be sticking with the traditional format of releasing one episode per week, rather than releasing them all at once, like Netflix’s original programming strategy.
