For pop cultures lovers all over the United States, the Super Bowl XXXV in 2001 was one of the most exciting moments of our entire lives.
No, of course not for football reasons, but because our favorite pop star couple of all time hit the stage to perform together: Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.
And as if watching those two young lovebirds wasn’t exciting enough, they were joined by the rest of Nsync (swoon!), Aerosmith, Mary J. Blige and Nelly.
I mean, is there anything cooler than that group of people? In 2001… NO.
Nsync kicked off the halftime show with “Bye Bye Bye,” which transitioned into the #1 song of the year: Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” (which still makes us tear up thinking about the end of Armageddon).
The rest of the performance was a mix of Nsync and Aerosmith until finally Britney, Mary J. and Nelly joined in during a sick version of “Walk This Way,” at which point Brit and Justin sang together on stage, and we all died a little because it was just too much handle.
Check out the full show in the video above. (And if you’re specifically looking for Brit and Justin, scroll to the 8:20 mark).
