Let this be a wake up call to all of us.
Look, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with double, nay, triple checking one’s work before hitting the super scary “publish” button. Heck, a fourth check never hurt anyone.
Which is why this week, we’re all picking on The New Republic’s Danny Vinik for incorrectly identifying Rihanna as Jay Z’s wife in a piece about #Tidal. Rihanna. Bad Gal RiRi. The person who may or may not have caused that epic elevator fight between Solange and Jay last summer. (But that’s another story…)
Anyway, The New Republic, which has been in circulation since 1914, issued a correction with a cute little tweet Tuesday night:

Somewhere, legions of Beyoncé’s beloved Beyhive are probably sending hate mail to Mr. Vinik. Though, it’s safe to say he’s not going to have trouble remembering this slice of pop culture history anytime soon.
Queen Bey and Jay Z will celebrate seven years of wedded bliss on Saturday (Apr. 4).
